METALX is an advanced iron-chrome-aluminium fibre that possesses excellent corrosion resistance to very high temperatures up to 1300°C.
The remarkable oxidation resistance of the alloy is developed by careful steel chemistry design and process control using Fibretech’s iMelt rapid solidification technology (RST). A fibre with a tenacious, protective and durable oxide layer is formed and results in extended lifetime at higher temperatures and in extreme industrial environments.
Metallurgical nano technology is also utilised within the alloy to improve high temperature strength and oxide surface bonding using precipitation and pinning mechanisms.

METALX fibres are an effective solution where refractories are subjected to very high temperatures greater than 1200°C, thermal cycling, mechanical impact damage and exposure to aggressive industrial atmospheres.
The fibres are suited to oxidising and carburising gas atmospheres up to 1300°C continuous service.
